He died in 2023 as a result of injuries inflicted on June 13 during an attack on the headquarters of the environmental group Incalli Center for Sustainability Ixcahuicopa (Centli) in Tlalmanalco.
Murder for defending the forest and water
Collectives of defenders condemned the murder, demanded justice and a halt to aggressions against defenders of land and territory. They affirmed that Álvaro Arvizu was “viciously murdered while defending the Centli UAM in Tlalmanalco from an aggression.”
