A forthcoming Hack₂O radio program

Following Open Call for Pariticipants: Webs of Water − An Online Activations Series and [Mai 2025] Soirée Eaux et DIY Tests à Rennes

We received a very pleasant confirmation about setting-up an Hack₂O ardio program with indie broadcaster named p-node.org.

It’s a huge opportunity and a real pleasure. For sure it’s aligned with Repenser le projet Hack₂O | Rethinking Hack₂O:

Next week will be decisive, with a working session on the substance and clarified intention of this project. In person meeting in Rennes.

To cut a long story short,

what needs to be worked on:

  • why make a radio programme with episodes?
  • Who should do it? Do we need partners other than p-node?
  • In what languages (yes, I want multilingual)?
  • What is the purpose of this effort?
  • Who wants to help out?
  • What about budget, money, governance and distribution?
  • How often should we hold talks / radio broadcasts?
  • How much effort and how much work?
  • What format(s) for the radio show?
  • What basic hardware/software do you need to get started?
  • Find and give this program a name

So, here we are.

The programme will be called Liminal, a hack₂o radio broadcast on social struggles, investigations, tools and activist and some news.

Starting on Thursday 5 June 2025 on p-node and every 15 days thereafter. 13:00 to 14:00 Paris Timezone.

On the DAB+ in the Mulhouse and Paris area. Podcast then available here in our forum with transcription, sources and links.

It’s a 1h30 minutes live broadcast with en theme for each episode.

Episodes can be made with or without a guest, there will be music under a free licence, and a news item when appropriate. The aim is to keep the format fairly free and to have a medium for broadcasting different initiatives, stories, investigative cases and so on.

We can do this Liminal broadcast in many languages thanks to p-node.org

Methodology:
For each episode,

  • We open a pad to prepare for the show in advance
  • We create a topic named Liminal SxEn TITLE days before the broadcast
    • x the season’s issue
    • n episode number
  • We had relevant #hashtag in the topic
  • We share link to access pad in this topic.
  • After the episode we copy paste notes from the pad to the topic with integrated audio file
  • We turn the topic into a wiki
  • We publish it with #pages using tools bottom below the topic.
  • We publish a resume for each season.
