Toward The Map (ttm) is a sub-category of Community
It’s about our Hack₂O World Map in which different groups of water hacktivists are positioned and visible by blue pins in which descriptions are written.

Investigation and hacktivism are never done alone. We also need to learn from others, to make visible the links that exist between us. We need to find points and places and matters on which we can work together. And the problems of water do not stop at the borders of administrations and states; water issues transcend boundaries.

  • Use Toward The Map to start a topic about an existing group spoted in our map. For example IMVEC here in Spain.

    • In this new topic, describe this group, its activities, its history and its links with Hack₂O and with other water activist groups.
    • Add # with a regional geographical indication, for the example taken above #catalogne
    • Post your topic
    • Turn this topic into wiki mode − the icon (three small dots) ... at the bottom right of the post, then the flat key icon, and choose ‘wiki’. This will allow others to edit the post and contribute to the work.

  • If you can edit the map pins, add to the group described on its pin Hack₂O wiki page: <link to topic created>

  • If you want to suggest other new water hacktivist groups to add :

    • If it’s in connection with an existing group pinned and described in a topic: start a discussion under that topic.
    • If this is a new group without a wiki description or a pin in the map, open a new topic in Toward The Map and ask for help.
    • You can also ask to be a contributor to the map

Thanks for starting this! There’s a group at the University of Barcelona called Environmental Justice Atlas gathering various maps. It would be interesting to see how to make this one compatible with theirs,

  • to give Hack₂O map more visibility and encourage participation;
  • to include relevant existing points to Hack₂O map.
